What can I say about today? It started well, with a lovely chat with a farmer that let us use his lane to park in, although this did make me late setting off. Then a chance encounter with another farmer on the road, who asked how far I'd run and then opened about four gates to let me run through his land on a more direct route. My legs were feeling tired but there was no specific grumbles anywhere and I was moving pretty well. There was a lot of road today, for about the first 36km it was all road, with some of the small B roads a bit busy with holiday traffic. Today was also crew swap over day, with Shane heading home after a week and Kevin coming to join me for a week. Very surprisingly, somehow I was still on time at the second time and even with all the traffic on the M5 Kevin arrived whilst I was still there. It has been was great to see Kevin and Helen as they arrived and to catch up with them before moving on. However, in the last 10 km the route was diverted again, the footpaths overgrown (my legs are currently tingling nicely from all the nettle stings) and a key path was blocked off.

To be very honest today was a day that was simply about getting it done, the scenery wasn't that inspiring or beautiful, which is why I only took three photos today. There were no hills to break up the run but I was happy plodding along on my own today. I wasn't really thinking about much at all today. This might sound strange, being on my own for so long today, but I really didn't think of much today. I went through the motions, sticking to the awesome Rob Wilby 9 min run to 1 min walk routine and just kept going following the pink line on my Garmin. If it is not obvious I am struggling to write much today so I am going to leave this here and hope more inspiration comes tomorrow on my way down to Axminster.
