Day 65 - Eating all the food

I've had a super relaxed rest day, meeting up with Gary and Gill for a massage and lunch at Machynys Golf Club in Llanelli. They are coming to run with me tomorrow, which will be great. Gary is taking part in the Grand 2 Grand Ultra next year, which is the race that I think got me into running for lots of days. It'll be great reliving the highlights from the race and chatting about the beautiful course. My left quad which has been a little tight for a few days has really eased off through the day and Gary's massage I'm sure will have really helped out. The next three days are pretty big days as I run around the Gower through Swansea and Port Talbot towards Cardiff. They are all around 50 km days but with a lot less climbing than the last few weeks. I'll take it easy and keep having fun whilst out on the trails. The weather looks changeable over the next few days, which knowing my luck will end up being hot and sunny.

So far I have raised around £12,000 and I want to say thank you to everyone who has donated, this money will make such a big difference to the work that TRIBE Freedom Foundation can fund to help end modern slavery. I still would like to reach £20,000 by the end of the project, I think this is a long shot but with only just over three weeks left until I finish I'm keen to get that last £8,000.

As most of you will know, I am finishing this single lap of my home on 28 August, back in the same place I set off at Kidmore End Cricket Club, it'd be great to have as many people as possible to celebrate the finish. If you fancy coming for some afternoon tea, watching some cricket and then having some food and drink in the evening please use this link to let us know you are coming (Facebook Event). I'd also love to run the last day as a group, if you'd like to come and run the last day with me from Windsor and Eton Riverside Train Station to Gallowstree Common, please use this link to sign up (Event sign up). It will be about 46 km for the full distance. There will be checkpoints every 11 km with opportunities to join at any of these. The last 10 km will be from Henley Town Hall Car Park and there will also be a opportunity to join at 5 km to go. So whatever distance you feel you can run come join me, I want the last day to be super relaxed and super sociable. Full details will be posted nearer the time on Facebook etc as well as here. Please get in touch if you do intend to run the last day so we can organise logistics. It will be self supported, but we may be able to provide water top ups at checkpoints.
